Free Land Use Workshop

Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 9 am - 12 pm
Braddock Government Center, 9002 Burke Lake Road, Burke
Cost: Free

Want to stop unreasonable development?  Here is a chance to demystify the jargon and unravel the governmental maze of land use decision-making.  Expert speakers will explain how government officials decide where to put shopping centers, homes, office buildings, and parks.

They will offer some tools advocates can use to get environmental principles included in land use decision-making.  This is a one-of-a-kind workshop for all conservation-minded Northern Virginians, jointly sponsored by the Audubon Society of Northern Virginia and the Mount Vernon and Great Falls chapters of the Sierra Club.

If you are willing to be on an e-mail alert list to contact a legislator before a key vote (by e-mail, phone, letter, or personal visit), please e-mail Glenda Booth at gbooth123@aol.com. Be sure to provide your telephone number and your postal address. We especially need people from Alexandria, Fairfax City, and Falls Church, and Arlington, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties.
